Sunday May 30th
Sound Control Manchester
Same Teens, Pronk and Murkage Cartel have got together for a takeover of Sound Control on New Wakefield St and have invited some of our favourite acts and DJs to play as part of Eurocultured.
Voice of The Seven Thunders
Walls
Real Dolls
Naive New Beaters
Murkage Cartel
Bubbz
High Rankin
People tend to overuse the word ‘eclectic’ but our line up takes in everything from prog to dubstep and whatever lies betweens so we think we’re justified. Eurocultured itself is on the day after too and includes appearances by Little Dragon and Dungen
Voice of The Seven Thunders – Total prog out from the people who brought you Voice of The Seven Woods.
“This album is a total 70’s psyche acid rock fest which which make you want to flail yourself all around the shop like a true rock god” is how Norman Records put it and we can’t disagree.

Walls – one part Allez Allez and one part Banjo or Freakout. Signed to Kompakt they have made and one of our favourite albums of the year so far. It has just scored an unparalleled 9/10 in Vice, DJ Magazine and The NME and this is their first appearance outside London.

Real Dolls – a little bit J pop and a little bit hip hop. We just love their debut single ‘Trophy’. They mash up vibrant pop, hip hop, club beats, cartoonish manga visuals and insane amounts of energy to create an infectious whole. They describe themselves as ‘A party band’, and anyone who’s witnessed their live shows will know what they mean

Naive New Beaters – one listen and we were smitten – joining the dots between rap rock and electro house it’s a big bonjour for our fave new Parisians. Getting ready for appearances at Glastonbury, Bestival and all over Europe. Remember, you heard them here first. Unless of course you heard them first somewhere else.

High Rankin – or Will to his mum has been making some serious waves of late. The last 6 months have seen him remix Hervé, Amon Tobin, Cypress Hill, Adam Freeland, Si Begg and the Stereo Mc’s.
He’s been receiving huge hype on Radio One from Annie Mac about two of his latest tracks ‘No Money For Guns’ and ‘Bubble and Squeak’. Both these tracks, along with 2 others, now proudly reside on Hervés label ‘Cheap Thrills’ and will be out as an EP in late April.

They’ll all be joined by Murkage, Same Teens and Pronk DJs so we’ll see you there…
