Background
Switchflicker represents a continued exploration of art-based
collaborations with the music scene, bringing new and exciting
work to a popular audience, fusing the creative practise between
Manchester’s renowned music industry, musicians and
spoken word artists.
Chloe Poems, described by The Independent
as “all the pugnaciousness of a prize fighter”,
and by Gay Times as “a massive rising star of enormous
talent”, - outrage has rarely been so perfectly crafted
and delivered by such a deliciously gingham-clad glove. More

The French duo The Lovers are now performing
their « minimalist and Franglaise peculiar little Pop
songs with an Electronic twist » in the UK , France
, The Netherlands and Belgium.
Comme des Stars bring Piaf to life in a
thrilling performance with the power to make your heart ache
and your soul soar. Prepare to be transported back to the
café society of 1930s Paris, with its unique atmosphere
of gleeful revelry with a twist of tragedy. What follows is
a roller coaster ride through the history of French song,
taking in such greats as Gainsbourg, Aznavour and Bardot.
Hugely entertaining, watching Comme des Stars is like tasting
the edge of a world.
Valerie – Disinterested in the local
music scene and excited by bands filtering over from the U.S…Our
three heroes decide to form Valerie. Life as they knew it
would never be the same again. The band named themselves after
Valerie Solanas, the would be assassin of Andy Warhol and
author of the feminist S.C.U.M Manifesto. Solanas is seen
as a crackpot by many, as are Jo, Vix and Elvis, but the band
were inspired by the way she acted upon her beliefs no matter
how extreme and with little support. Valerie's sound is very
much a product of their inspirations - punk, riot girl, lo
fi, no fi, d.i.y, pop and lately even signs of a naive hip
hop.
The avant-garde neo-dandy Robin Nature-Bold &
Band(ism) are to set to break into heavenly delights
with their idiosyncratic psychedelic punk-folk. "They're
like a cross between Billy Childish & Rolf Harris"
claims Flux Magazine Editor Lee Taylor, other claims include,
"Robin Nature-Bold is the love child of Peter Sellers,
Andy Warhol and Andy Kauffman after a game of soggy biscuit
of which Valerie Solanas ate, then vomited into the croch
of Janis Joplin (the story does go on, apparently end's up
in some photographic developing fluid)".
